Don’t we all spend our life time in thinking of future or past? Well our life goes on with worrying about the things that we don’t have or what we don’t know and then miss the PRESENT moment.
I was in the same boat until I started practicing Mindfulness. It helped me to bring my awareness back into now and this present moment and appreciate what I have rather think of what I didn’t have. Generally we worry about things like what if I don’t have a steady income? What if I don’t have life partner? What is I don’t have career that I wanted? What if my kids fall sick? And many more.. remember our brain is composed of 65,000 thoughts a day. And rather appreciating to what we have now, a home, comfortable life, healthy relationships with ourselves, basic needs etc. And look around to what you can appreciate right now. How can I do that? • For eg., Yes I have a career right now and need to be happy and Grateful with it to start with as it resolves my basic needs and then visualise what I would like to have in future. • Yes Kids will fall sick but worrying doesn’t stop it happening rather change the thought to what can I do to prevent it? And if it does happen how can I plan. Rather constantly thinking of what’s not there now.
Worry is a negative energy and negativity blocks the progress as we all know. So start practicing Gratitude and be in the present moment. And being in the present moment is as simple exercise as noticing your breathe and notice where you are and what you are doing. That’s it.
